Miles Davis and the Cool

In college ultimate, there’s no such thing as Senior Nights, no framed jerseys, no numbers in the rafters, no microphones or speeches at half court. There’s no such thing as post-game pressers, trophy cases in hallways, or pictures and plaques on a locker room wall. There are few “recognized” opportunities to thank your teammates, coaches, and supporters for what they’ve given and taught you over the years, for what they’ve helped you accomplish. There are few instances when you feel like you’re surrounded by history and reminded of what was accomplished by those who came before you. But I get that same feeling of gratitude and that same feeling of community whenever I think of this place. It’s not the Dean Dome or Cameron or The Phog, but it’s hallowed and sacred to me. Thanks for everything.
