Welcome to HFT!

Why did we start this blog? Well, when we are not playing ultimate, we like to spend the rest of our time talking and/or gmailing about it. So when Michelle sent out a request for blogs for Without Limits, her women’s ultimate initiative (check them out via the sidebar — they are awesome), we decided to take the leap and publish some of our less embarrassing frisbee-related ramblings for the world to see, read, and/or ignore. Your call.

So here we are. We’ll post a few team/region previews and tournament recaps, and mostly various other musings on our ultimate-related pasts, futures, questions, rants, etc. To begin with some clarification before we jump into far more obscure stories: who are we? We are two college seniors who captain Quasar (Harvard’s women’s team) and who play for Boston-area mixed teams and in various BUDA leagues in the spare time we have that is not devoted to frantically catching up on schoolwork after tournament weekends. Why the blog name? HFT, or Happy Frisbee Time, has become the Quasar motto (thank you, Lucy!) over the past couple of years; what started out as a way to focus on ourselves and playing well and having fun even when games and opponents get too intense or mean-spirited has become kind of a life mantra.

More extensive posts to follow as we continue to procrastinate figuring out our futures…
