Introduction

Hi all! I think an introduction is in order…

Who I am
My name is Tasha. I play ultimate. I started playing with the Bettys in the fall of 2005 after being invited to practice one random day in the dorm elevator. I fell in love and like many of you probably, I become obsessed with the sport. I played every season for 5 years. I was club president my sophomore year, and I was a team captain my junior and senior year. And my last year? I just played as hard as I could while helping the new captains with their journey. I am going to help coach the Bettys this spring semester for the first time, as I had lab during their practices last fall. I started playing club after my sophomore year. I played on a Mixed team for Kansas City (originally Dick and Jane for my first year, then re-focused and renamed Threat Level Midnight my 2nd club season). This past Club season, I served as one of the captains for Midwest RevoLOUtion. There had been attempts at starting a Club Womens team in the area previously, but with the help of some other amazing players, we actually started the team AND… we went to Nationals! It was amazing to be a part of an effort like that. I think we succeeded in our goal of forming a Club team to provide more competitive opportunities for women while also promoting awareness of Womens Club ultimate. I’m excited to see how that effort develops in our region and beyond. Welcome to my blog!

What I’m going to write about…
I don’t have any concrete plans.  I have ideas… My ideas include writing about the Bettys, our journey, our season.  The tourneys we attend and the women we play against.  My experience as a first time coach.  Women’s ultimate in general, maybe some ultimate strategy… Maybe some fun stuff I learn in PT school :-)   Who knows.

What I really want from this post is to ask you, whoever you are, what you might want to read about.  Please leave a comment or email me, facebook me, whatever, if you have anything you’d like me to discuss or comment on (either general topics or based on what you know about me as a player, person, or my position in the women’s ultimate world).  I can’t promise I’ll write on it, but I’ll try my best.

Good luck as your spring season begins!
