CLASSROOM SESSIONS (Each session will start 10 min after the round time and end 20 min before the start of the next round)
9:30-11:00
“Practice Planning” (Brian Dobyns)
Planning practices can be a tremendous challenge.  How much should you scrimmage?  Should you add time in for conditioning?  How many topics should you cover during practice?  This clinic will give you the basic tools for planning practices and will help you to become a more effective captain or team leader.

“Recruiting and Building Team Camaraderie” (Cate Foster)
You need to get people to come out to practice and you need to get them to stay.  How do you go about getting people to give your team a shot?  And once they’re there, how do you get them to stay?

11:00-12:30
“Recruiting” (Lindsey Cross)
Recruiting is key to building a college program.  Learn from the success of the University of Southern California team.  How do you go from barely having numbers at practice to exploding onto the National scene?

“The Shape of a Season” (Cara Crouch)
Good teams think bigger picture than just one game or one tournament.  How do you help your team peak at the right time?  What should you think about when planning your practice and tournament schedule?

12:30-2:00
“Getting the Most out of the Players You Have” (Raju Prasad)
A good teammate helps her teammates play to their maximum potential.  What can you be doing as a coach, captain, team leader, or player to help those around you play their best?  If your team has very obvious weaknesses or strengths, how do you design an offense or defense around this?  Realistically, what can do you to get the most of the players you have?

“Practice Planning” (Mike Natenberg)
Planning practices can be a tremendous challenge.  How much should you scrimmage?  Should you add time in for conditioning?  How many topics should you cover during practice?  This clinic will give you the basic tools for planning practices and will help you to become a more effective captain or team leader.

“Being an Effective Team Leader” (Chelsea Murphy)
Leading a college women’s team is a huge emotional, crazy learning experience.  How do you get 15 people with different strengths, weaknesses, and interests to work together toward a common goal?

3:30-5:00
“Tools for College Captains” (Allison Snow)
College captains have a wide range of responsibilities.  They fill out rosters, report to Club Sports, help get the team to tournaments, plan practices, and everything in between.  How do you do all of these things effectively?

“From Team to Program” (Lindsey Hack)
You have numbers for practices and tournaments, and your team is looking stronger than ever. But what happens when your class of senior studs graduates? How do you balance planning for this year with planning for the future of your program? How do you go from team to program?

“Tools for Effective Leadership” (Dennis Tarasi)
What are the characteristics of a good leader?  How do you get a group of people on the same page and working toward a common goal?  How do you motivate people?  We’ll talk about these things and more in this session.

“How to Build a Winning College Program” (Christian Foster)
Winning is fun.  You have sick athletes, talented throwers, and shut-down defenders.  How do you put them all together to build a winning college program?

SATURDAY POST-GAMES SKILLS CLINIC
(Players will have the opportunity to attend TWO of the following stations. Online pre-registration will be required.)

“From Team to Program” (Lindsey Hack / Brian Dobyns / Raju Prasad)
You have numbers for practices and tournaments, and your team is looking stronger than ever. But what happens when your class of senior studs graduates? How do you balance planning for this year with planning for the future of your program? How do you go from team to program?

“Practice Planning” (Mike Natenberg)
Planning practices can be a tremendous challenge.  How much should you scrimmage?  Should you add time in for conditioning?  How many topics should you cover during practice?  This clinic will give you the basic tools for planning practices and will help you to become a more effective captain or team leader.

“The Shape of a Season” (Cara Crouch / Katherine Wooten)
Good teams think bigger picture than just one game or one tournament.  How do you help your team peak at the right time?  What should you think about when planning your practice and tournament schedule?

“How to Build a Winning College Program” (Christian Foster)
Winning is fun.  You have sick athletes, talented throwers, and shut-down defenders.  How do you put them all together to build a winning college program?

“Building A B Team” (Chelsey Burrows)
One of the biggest steps in growing a college program is developing a B team.  We’ll talk about some of the challenges of developing a B team.  How do you help those players develop and feel included in the program?  How do you develop a vision for the B team?  How do you build relationships between the A and B teams?  Learn how to start and cultivate a successful B team.

“Mental Toughness” (Brett Matzuka)
Mental toughness is something that is not addressed very often in our sport. Why do teams go on runs?  Why do teams fall apart under pressure?  What should you be thinking about when you’re guarding the other team’s best player on double game point in the game-to-go to Regionals?  How do you help your teammates play their best?  We’ll address the mental component of being competition and help you get your team into better mental shape.

“Building A Team Without A Coach” (Megan Tarasi / Dennis Tarasi)
Building a team without a coach is an enormous challenge for many college teams.  We’ll talk about our experiences with the University of Iowa and Truman State programs and tell you what worked for us and what didn’t.  We’ll talk about some of the challenges AND opportunities of being on a team without a coach and help you figure out how to maximize your team’s potential.

“Fundraising and Recruiting” (Allison Snow / Chelsea Murphy / Lindsey Cross)
Money and players.  Probably as crucial as being able to catch and throw.  We’ll share our varied college experiences with you and talk you through some successful fundraising and recruiting techniques to help you grow and create more opportunities for your program.

“Drills for Defensive Skills” (Steve Meyer / Robyn Fennig)
Tired of doing the same drills over and over again?  Build an arsenal of drills to help your team build their defensive skills.

“Downfield Defense” (Michelle VanHandel / Josh Mullen / Claire Chastain)
This clinic will focus on how to dictate on defense and neutralize the advantage the offense has of choosing where to cut. We will talk about positioning, microcharging and reading the disc in the air.

“The Art of Laying Out” (Cate Foster / Frances Deschenes)
Good form can go a long way in getting you off your feet and getting the disc into your hands. This station will cover the tricks and tips to get your bids bigger and safer.

“Fitness: Thinking Outside the Box” (Sasha Resnick / Laura Wehlitz)
Track.  Weight Room.  Repeat.  Need new ways to approach individual and team fitness?  This clinic will teach you new ways to get yourself and your team into the best shape possible.

“24/7: How To Get Open” (Rana Kannan / Katy Harris)
We’ll go over cutting basics, technique and body mechanics of different types of cuts, and tricks to use to get open on someone one on one.

“Breaking the Mark” (Kate Morrison / Jessi Jones)
This clinic explores the techniques and strategies to breaking any mark. Learn how to make your mark seem non-existent.

“Hucking” (Sara Casey / Janna Coulter)
In this station, we’ll go over the mechanics of hucking.  Opening up your team’s long game is crucial to success!

“Skills and Drills for Teaching Your Rookies” (Casey “Dale” Krone)
In this clinic, we’ll go over a variety of drills that will help you teach basic skills to newer players.  It’s easy to do the same drills over and over again, but it’s important to keep new players engaged and constantly improving.  We’ll teach team leaders an assortment of drills, focusing specifically on how to teach these drills to others.
